“People may not be able to remember all your kindness. But Allah sees, counts, and multiplies all that you’ve done with sincerity.”

I can’t think of any deeds that are more virtuous than patience except for being pleased [with Allaah and His Qadar] and similarly I don’t know of a level higher and nobler than being pleased [with Allaah and His Qadar] and it is the head of loving Allaah.

Abdul Wahhaab Ibn Ziyaad — [Al-Hilyah, 6/163] (via strivingukht)

When a child is punished for their honesty, they begin to lie.

Al-Sarri Al-Suqti said,

“I have been making istighfar for thirty years now for one time I said, ‘Alhamdulilah‘.

It was said to him, ‘And how is that?’

He replied, ‘There was a fire in Baghdad where someone met me and told me that my shop was saved so I said Alhamdulilah. I regretted it ever since because I sought goodness for myself before the people”.
