Realize that some of us have more privilege than others.

It’s not so much an advantage as it is a responsibility. It’s going to take so much love within this Ummah for us to realize that.

Within these racial and status divides and injustices, we are one body. If we don’t feel for one another and act using our positions to benefit one another, we’re separating ourselves from our faith.

Abu Bakr sold one of his own shops to free Bilal.

When he paid his slaver, Umayya said, “I would have freed him for half of that price.” Abu Bakr replied, “and I would have paid ten times the price for him.”
Who was Bilal to Abu Bakr?

One was a slave and one came from an elite household. The love between them was divine.

Bound by nothing but faith.

I pray we gain this sort of love for one another and put all forms of this racism and status that plague us behind us.

I pray we all achieve this level of love our Sahaba had and that we’re able to feel and share our happiness and sadness as one body and one family.

Act when no one is looking. Make your actions meaningful and make them count.

Let this love of this world that separates us leave our hearts.

Pilgrims taking photos in the holy places ?

Some people take photos in the holy places, and sometimes a person may raise his hands in supplication for the sake of the picture only.

Is this permissible? Does it detract from Hajj or not?

Taking photos of pilgrims in the place of worship is not permissible for two reasons:

Firstly: they are doing that so that they can keep the pictures for memories, and any photo that is intended to be kept for memories is haraam.

Secondly: that is usually not free from showing off, because people take pictures to show to others that they have done Hajj. Hence, as the questioner mentioned, they raise their hands in supplication when they are not actually offering supplication; rather it is only for the purpose of taking the picture.

But if there is a need for that, because this man is doing Hajj on behalf of someone else, so he says:

Take a picture so that I can prove that I have done Hajj, then after it reaches the one who delegated him to do Hajj on his behalf he tears up the picture, then there is nothing wrong with that, because there is a need for it, and the purpose behind it is not to keep it for memories. End quote.

Her soul becomes stable

Ibn Baaz (رحمه الله) said:

On the contrary, when she goes out of her house, she feels uneasy, irritated, and tense and she may be exposed to evil consequences.”

Morals Of The Believing Men And Women

Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Bāz [رحمه الله] said:

“These are some of the morals and characteristics of the believing men and women.

They help, protect, and support one another.

They do not envy, cheat, betray, insult, or call each other by offensive nicknames.

They do not slander or do anything that may hurt or cause feuds, enmity, and division; instead they love and advise and exhort one another to do good for the sake of Allaah.

They, therefore, enjoin the good and forbid the evil amongst them. Such is the behavior of the believing men and women.

With these manners societies prosper and affairs are straightened. In addition to this, the believers perform Salaah [Prayer] as prescribed by Allaah, in a state of tranquillity, Khushu’ [the heart being attuned to the act of worship], and devotion; in its due times; and fulfilling its conditions, pillars, and obligations.

They perform it as Allaah has prescribed, each in its due time.”
